Our Story
Saffron & Savoir was founded by Sarita Bhagwat. She is a trained chef, natural teacher, gracious host, and above all, a lifelong food enthusiast.
After two dynamic decades in Consulting and Financial Services, Sarita followed her first love: cooking, teaching, and sharing beautiful meals with others.
A Culinary Journey Rooted in Heritage
Sarita grew up in India, learning to cook by observing her grandmother (Aji) and nanny (Bai), two exceptional home chefs who passed down their wisdom without recipes, but with plenty of love.
After coming to the U.S. for graduate school at the University of Florida (Go Gators! - 2025 NCAA Champions!), Sarita eventually made her home in the Boston area in 1996.
Sarita spent 2 decades in Financial services while honing her culinary skills by taking classes across the globe. In 2025 she fully pivoted into the culinary business by forming Saffron and Savoir.
Credentials
Sarita’s approach is shaped by both formal training and deep culinary curiosity. She trained at Le Cordon Bleu in London and the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, and holds a ServSafe Manager Certification. As a member of the Les Dames d’Escoffier Boston Chapter and a Certified Wagyu Sommelier, her work reflects a thoughtful balance of technique, ingredient knowledge, and refined perspective.
